Abhyanga - A rhythmic massage to stimulate the circulation of blood, lymph and prana (energy).
Shirodhara - A steady stream of oil is gently poured over the forehead to improve clarity of mind.
Oil Pulling – Indian folk remedy that involves swishing oil around the mouth to reduce the amount of harmful bacteria. Sesame oil is also believed to pacify the he alth problems associated with Vata aggravation.
Sesame Oil is an ideal choice not just for cooking but as a flavour enhancer. The oil contains natural anti-oxidants. Whereas light sesame oil can be used for deep frying, dark sesame oil from roasted sesame seeds can be used for stir frying and sautéing. Food prepared with Sesame Oil can be preserved for a longer duration due to the long shelf-life of the oil.
Sesame Oil has been used extensively in medicines. It is an antiviral and a natural anti-inflammatory agent.
